Dr. Lisa Kentfield earned her Bachelor in Science Cum Laude from Humboldt State University. She went on to complete a Master’s degree at UC Davis in Animal Biology. She briefly taught community college and worked as a veterinary technician before attending UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She has been Fear Free Certified since 2016 and has a special interest in low-stress methods and the emotional well being of pets.,
Dr. Kentfield lives in Southern California with her husband Nathan, who works for a non-profit that monitors the Bald Eagles on the Channel Islands, cat Aja, who specializes in lounging and capture-and-release of small fake mice, and a leopard gecko, Saffron, who likes to hunt and eat small bugs.
She enjoys all things outdoors-especially hiking and backpacking, rock climbing, and bird watching. Other free-time activities include home-brewing beer, traveling, playing soccer and watching hockey (Go Sharks!).
